Some friends and I watched a movie called
Before Sunset after church tonight. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it. That being said, however, if you think movies require lots of action and explosions, do not watch this movie. It is essentially a long conversation between two characters about life and love. It is beautiful and it will make you think...and possibly drive you absolutely crazy.
We have so many thoughts about love that we hear and see through our religions, the relationships around us, music, movies, news...just about anything we come into contact with will push an image of this ideal on us. Everyone is so busy trying to define what we don't know if we can define. We are all different and we all know this, but we still strive to find some perfect little box into which we can fit the concepts that impact our lives. Love especially because it is such a big thing. It's everywhere and there is so much pressure to find this thing that we aren't sure of and can't pinpoint. In the end, you just have to have faith that you'll end up where you are supposed to be. With love, however, I think the scariest thing about that is that you have to trust yourself to recognize something that you can't even define. Something about which you are bombarded daily with contradictory information.
So...if you'd like to experience more thoughts and feelings about love that will possibly leave your head spinning and turn some of your thoughts upside down, watch this movie. I don't think you'll regret it.
