Geek Alert

I went on iTunes today to look for something that I seriously wanted for my notification ringtone on my phone. I had been meaning to do this for a while and had not had a chance. Sadly, they did not have a super big selection although they did have one I wanted. Later, however, I found this absolutely amazing page with Star Trek sound effects. I may or may not have listened to every single one of those. While being quite torn between communicator beeps from iTunes and the intercom sound effect from this website, I am currently going with the former.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with this awesomeness:

Loud Harp

One of my friends has a new CD called Loud Harp (also the name of the group) that has recently come out and it is pretty awesome. This album has some absolutely beautiful songs about God and trusting Him. Your Love Never Runs Out is one of my favorite songs from this album. You can download it here for free and give it a listen (and if you are super awesome, you can donate there too). If you are like me, and would much rather have a physical copy, you can get that here for $12. So, check it out...and if you like this, you could also check out the other band that Asher is in, Seafinch (or if myspace is more your style).

Before Sunset

Some friends and I watched a movie called Before Sunset after church tonight. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it. That being said, however, if you think movies require lots of action and explosions, do not watch this movie. It is essentially a long conversation between two characters about life and love. It is beautiful and it will make you think...and possibly drive you absolutely crazy.

We have so many thoughts about love that we hear and see through our religions, the relationships around us, music, movies, news...just about anything we come into contact with will push an image of this ideal on us. Everyone is so busy trying to define what we don't know if we can define. We are all different and we all know this, but we still strive to find some perfect little box into which we can fit the concepts that impact our lives. Love especially because it is such a big thing. It's everywhere and there is so much pressure to find this thing that we aren't sure of and can't pinpoint. In the end, you just have to have faith that you'll end up where you are supposed to be. With love, however, I think the scariest thing about that is that you have to trust yourself to recognize something that you can't even define. Something about which you are bombarded daily with contradictory information.

So...if you'd like to experience more thoughts and feelings about love that will possibly leave your head spinning and turn some of your thoughts upside down, watch this movie. I don't think you'll regret it.

Cuteness Overload

One of my friends shared this youtube video on facebook the other day. I kind of fell in love with it. I may or may not have watched at least part of it so often that I lost count. About eighteen seconds into it is my favorite part...it is absolutely adorable.

Blog Revamp

I have totally failed at this whole blogging thing. Yesterday, I was once again randomly on my blog page thinking oops...it has been forever. I should write a post...maybe later. Then, I decided I didn't like my background because it was really boring. Solid gray...seriously? What was I thinking? One thing led to another and my blog is totally not recognizable. Hopefully, the new look will help me get a fresh start on actually using it. Especially since I had to dabble in some code, which was an entirely new experience. (You should check this post out if you use Pinterest: Code it Pretty ) The plan is to actually post once a week and maybe up that later if I can handle it. So, for those of you who actually read this regularly (or as regularly as you can with my erratic posting), you should chew me out if I don't keep up on it.
